The Chess & Card Sports Management Center of National Sports General Administration, China Chess Association and the Shaanxi Sports Bureau, Shaanxi Provincial Social Sports Management Center, Xi'an Sports Bureau and the Xi'an People's Government of Beilin District, jointly hosts the 2019 "Belt & Road" World Women Chess Masters Summit Competition and Youth Tryout Challenge from Dec 19 to Dec 21, 2019 in Xi'an Jianguo Hotel, China. The purpose of this competition is to bring the world’s attention to Xi’an via the exiting chess competition, under the banner of “Belt & Road” initiative. The competition is trending with the fast development of the global metropolis of Xi’an, conducive to the creation of an internationalized match environment. Combining the regional advantages, offering a unique cultural experience, as an opportunity for cultural exchange and integration, the competition promotes the city of Xi’an as a brand, with this event as a remarkable city card. Xi'an is home to numerous universities with rich culture and educational resources. This event will join the hands of universities and colleges, including those globally prestigious universities. The participation of major university associations will further expand the cultural influence of it. The competition promotes cultural exchanges. It will be a good platform for soft power and culture demonstration, which also prepares well for the 2021 National Games in Xi'an as a warm-up for other sports and connected industries, and also an advertisement of urban sports industry and humanities.
